Deep Sea Fishing Destin Florida
When is the best time to go deep-sea fishing off the coast of Destin?
Now is a great time to book a deep sea fishing excursion with Finest Kind Charters of Destin, Florida. Our charters are booked well in advance; weekends and especially Saturdays are in greatest demand. Summer is our busiest season, but the fishing is great during the spring and fall also. The Destin Fishing Rodeo which takes place in October, is a highlight.
Can I expect to catch different kinds of fish depending on time of year?
Check out our What’s Biting Guide to see what you can expect to catch with each season, then schedule the deep-sea fishing adventure that suits you and your group. Whether you are hoping to reel in amberjack, cobia, tuna, swordfish, or shark, Finest Kind Charters of Destin has the know-how to make it happen.
What if I am a beginning fisherman?
Consider a four, five, or six hour excursion off the Gulf Coast if you are a novice preferring a shorter time at sea. Maybe you are planning an outing with your family, including younger children, and feel a shorter trip is most appropriate. Also, a fishing trip of four, five, or six hours is great if you have time constraints as you plan for several activities in your vacation itinerary.
What can you offer an experienced fisherman?
If you prefer to fish for larger deep water species— consider an eight to ten hour trip. And for expert fishermen, we offer all day or overnight experiences. On these outings expect a real adventure…anything can happen!
Is the captain of the Finest Kind an experienced angler?
Our charters are captained by Jason Mikel, a fourth generation angler with twenty years of experience. Captain Mikel will listen to your requests, offer his own recommendations, and will then come up with a plan for an optimum deep sea fishing experience…one that will give you great experiences, great memories, and a great catch.
What do I need to bring?
As Captain Mikel heads out to sea, using his years of experience to locate the species you wish to hook, his first-mate will give you instructions to ensure your success. You and your friends and family will be provided with your license, bait, tackle, fishing equipment, and ice. If you are keeping your catch, your first-mate will even filet the fish and package them for you. All you need to bring is your lunch, snacks, drinks, sunglasses, a camera, wet-weather gear, and a cooler for the packaged filets to make the trip home.
Please plan to meet us at the dock ten minutes before your scheduled departure. We hope to see you soon and look forward to providing you with the best possible experience.
